Hey there! Thanks so much for visiting my photography website. I'm so glad you're here! Now that you've arrived on this tab, I guess you are expecting to get to know the person behind all these photos.

So, hey! My name is Annie Chen. I'm a student at The University of Iowa studying marketing and mass communications. While school takes up a majority of my life at the moment, I am much more than my areas of study. I enjoy cooking, trying new foods, reading nonfiction books, spending time outdoors,  and much much more (I love to stay busy!). On top of all of that, I of course enjoy taking photos!

My curiosity with photo-taking sparked at a young age. Most days, you would find me I would be behind the camera— whether it was with our family's bulky camcorder, or our home's laptop webcam (Boy was a laptop back in the day hard to carry around). From then, I got my first phone and started taking photos and videos on there, maxing out my storage only a few months in.

 

In March of 2018, I said enough is enough, and invested in my first DSLR— which is the camera behind all the photos you see on this website! After some time behind the camera, I find that my interests lie primarily in portrait photography since I am able to connect with those who I am taking photos of— it always makes for a fun and personable experience.
